The Caretaker and the Child (Part 4)

The Devil brought Gen into a dark room, filled with candles...lots of them. There were tall ones, short ones, but he saw an exceptionally tall one with three letters carved in a grotesque red on the candle-- GEN.
"These are Lifespan Candles, everyone has one. As the days goes by, the candles get shorter. When the fire goes off, the person dies. Yours is the tallest, this is what you get when you come with me..." the Devil smirked, placing his hand over Gen's shoulders.
Just then, Gen was transported to a hospital, in an ICU ward. In front of a patient, but he was invisible to the people and staff there.
"Now, you have to learn to take lives away from people. Chant this incantation in their ears three times and you are done..."
The Devil pass him a piece of yellowed paper to Gen. Gen saw two lines separated by symbols.
"What is the second line for?"
"It is the opposite of the first incantation. It lengthens one's lifespan but you would have to shorten half of your lifespan..."
What would Gen do?

The Caretaker and the Child (Part 3)

Gen chose the Devil.
"Life is cruel to me. Why must I be nice to others?!" he screamed, tears rolled his cheeks. He knew that from that moment onwards, his life would be changed forever.
"Since you are now with me, you have to do what I say."demanded the Devil,"you have to learn to take lives from others."
"But...you just said you would make me immortal. You did not say that when I was to choose then!"Gen protested, who wanted to change his decision.
However, the Angel was nowhere to be seen.
Gen resigned to fate. He blamed himself for being revengeful then.
Is Gen really going to take lives away from others?
Or will Gen run away from the Devil?

The Caretaker and the Child (Part2)

Gen turned around. His parents were no where to be seen. He thought the worst that could happen. He scanned the road for any blood stains or any bloody corpse. There were only cars zooming. His parents disappeared without him knowing...
A sense of lost and loneliness enveloped him. He crouched down. The word 'ORPHAN' was the only word he could think of.
Just then, two figures appeared-an angel and a devil.
"Come to me, Gen. You have a kind soul. You could be my assistant and help people in need." said the angel.
"Come to me, Gen. I can make you immortal and invincible!" The devil said with his raspy voice.
Who would Gen choose?

The Caretaker and the Child (Part 1)

It was a sunny day like any other. Gen was bolting across the busy streets of California. His parents trailed behind, warning him the dangers of the road. Their words were like a breeze brushing across his face-simply ignored. When he reached the other side of the road, his eyes twitched. He knew something was wrong.

What was wrong?
Did something happen to Gen?
To be continued...

Trip to Science Centre

I was quite amazed when I when into the several new exhibitions. (except the one about breast cancer). Before that, we went to 'Water Works' (FYI. it is some sort of playground but with water spraying out everywhere). I got myself drenched from head to toe and so did some of my tuition mates, Yan Ni ,Cheryl, and Luo Qi. I would definitely give a thumb up for its facilities but you would get quite bored after you tried all its facilities. Be prepared to get yourself wet and bring an extra set of clothes.(You wouldn't want to be walking in the exhibitions with water dripping from your drooping hair.) I bought a 'Science Quiz' set in the 'Curiosity' shop. It has 1652 questions with 3 different difficulties. Do comment if you want to play with me.(friends only!) We ate McDonald's for lunch. We had to sacrifice by sitting on a slab 'cause the younger ones had to seat on the chairs.
The french fries I ate was VERY salty but the McFlurry was nice...
Hope I could have more of such trips with my friends....

The JUDGMENT Day

The Principal came in with the top results.
Everyone trembles with fear.
As Mr Tan read out the top student, Kok Zi Qi, everyone was shocked.
She was not who they expected.
They expected either Jing Qi, SiYing or me to take that place.
272.
The score of the top scorer in Anderson Primary School.
I was second but...
264.
This is my score.
8 marks difference.
She got 4 A*.
I had 5.
The first place had been my final goal in this year.
Why?
Maybe she had been strong in her academics all along...
...you never know...
When the results slips were given out,
some smiled.
Some cried.
Tears of happiness or sadness...
Passes and fails...
But this is just the beginning.
'O' levels.
'N' levels.
'A' levels.
They have yet to come.
They are still more tears to be shed.
Both happy and sad ones.
Hope everyone would have a smooth sailing Secondary school year! ^_^

Learn From "Their" Fail #LFMF

If your nose suddenly gets extremely itchy and it seems like fingernails won't be good enough, resist all urges. Put the razor down first. You will bleed. #LFMF
When holding earplugs in one hand and a piece of bread in the other, keep in mind what hand the bread is in. Earplugs don't taste good, especially if you just pulled them from your ears. #LFMF
When asking someone if they actually use that bluetooth headset, make sure its not a hearing aid. #LFMF
When beginning as a volunteer at the local animal shelter, don't offer to shake hands with people you meet there. Odds are you both have animal poo on your hands, and it's just awkward. #LFMF
